Hello!

However you may have stumbled upon my blog, hello and welcome! I hope that you enjoy it. My name is Kiley, and I'm a teenager from the Chicago area. Reading is my love, my passion, my joie de vivre (let's get it out of the way: I can be a bit dramatic. Surprise!), and so this blog will focus mainly on my current reading loves. I also hope to write a little bit about some of my other passions, such as fashion, beauty, travel, and more.

To start us off, how about some fun facts about me?

1. I've lived in Chicago for my entire life, but I have a severe case of wanderlust. Paris (fashion, perfume, sophisticated arrondissements, amazing street style, gorgeous architecture, warm baguettes...I could go on for days) and London (hello, literary capital of the world!) are my top two must-visits right now, but I have a long, long list of other destinations I want to see in my lifetime.

2. I love books (obviously), and my long list of favorites includes The Time Traveler's Wife, the Harry Potter series, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (as you may be able to tell from the title of this blog), and about a billion others.

3. My favorite TV show, hands down, is Gilmore Girls. Rory Gilmore is pretty much my soul mate/spirit animal/whatever you want to call it, and my love for Stars Hollow, CT runs deep.

4. I'm a bit of a coffee addict. There is nothing in the world as satisfying as curling up with a good book and a hot mug of coffee.

5. I love languages. I speak Spanish fairly well (though I'm definitely still learning!) and I've been taking French lessons for about six months. Someday I hope to learn Latin and Italian, too.
